Description

Join Wonder in the Wild for a day of nature play and hands-on environmental education designed for homeschool families!

Explorers ages 5+ will:

Spend time playing in our Village, creating art, using tools to explore nature, building obstacle courses, experimenting in the mud kitchen, and diving into our weekly nature topic in our reading corner
Hike to the woods and/or venture to the beach for guided environmental education activities, focusing on what is happening in nature around us
Practice outdoor skills such as composting, environmental field research, fire building and tending, cooking, shelter building, orienteering, and Leave No Trace ethics

School Year 2023-24

Thursdays

FREE trial days: 9/14 and 1/18. Trial days are 10-12pm with optional picnic lunch afterwards. *Parents are encouraged to stay during trials. Younger siblings are welcome to join with a parent.*

Fall Season: September 21 - November 9 (8 weeks)
Winter Season: January 25 - March 14 (8 weeks)
Spring Season: April 4 - May 23 (8 weeks)

School Year 2024-25

In 2024-25 we'll offer an entire year of Homeschool Days! This program is scheduled for Thursdays from 10-3pm beginning September 19th and running through May 22. Calendar follows QACPS with additional extended seasonal breaks. The course will include 27 sessions.

School Year 2023-24

$360/8 week season

Deposit due at time of registration - $50. Remaining balance due 2 weeks before season starts.

Partial and full scholarships are available based on need. Please inquiry by email. We're happy to make this program available to as many explorers as possible.

School Year 2024-25

Cost for school year 2024-25 is $1620/explorer for 27 sessions. Discounts available for early bird registration, siblings, and parent participation.

Ages

Activities designed primarily for ages 5-12. Older explorers may come as assistants at half price.
