Katey Nelson

Director

Katey Nelson, has 12+ years of experience leading environmental and outdoor education programs and 15+ years of child care experience.  She holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching, previously ran a licensed child care center and holds all required certificates to serve as a director, participates in training provided by the Eastern Region Association of Forest & Nature Schools, is a member of the Maryland Association of Environmental and Outdoor Education, and is a lifetime Girl Scout.

When not running around Camp Wright with WWOS explorers, Katey likes to hike, bike, and kayak around Kent Island and beyond.  Katey is a foster parent providing respite (short-term) care and loves going on outdoor adventures with her teenagers.
